ABOUT KĀKO’O HAWAI’I

Why Kāko’o?

Hawai’i is diverse, unique, and rich in culture. The people of Hawai’i have many gifts and talents to offer the world. Raising a family in Hawai’i has become more difficult due to the high cost of living and many local families are having to have multiple sources of income to continue to thrive here. What we have seen over the past decade is a growing number of small business. Kāko’o means to- uphold, support, or assist and that is the foundation of Kāko’o Hawai’i. We are here to build a community of people that support each other. The world describes us as competition, but we are a ‘OHANA.

Our vision behind Kāko’o is to provide small businesses with the opportunity to sell their goods, promote their business, and bring the community together.

Kamea and Jessica Wong

“I started Kamea Designs in 2014. Raising my family was the most important thing to me and I had to figure out how to do that, while being able to afford to live in Honolulu at the time. Participating in different craft fairs made me realize that Hawai’i island does not have a lot of opportunities or markets for people to sell products. It took me a long time, but with the support of my husband, that is where Kāko’o Hawai’i was born. I look forward to growing this community and helping you chase your dreams.”
